Here are some of our ideas on Being American.
Being American is....
being able to vote (unlike in other countries).
being part of something big.
being proud.
very lucky.
red, white, & blue.
a privilege.
having inalienable rights: life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness.
being united and courageous in what we stand for.
the greatest privilege in the world.
the Star Spangled Banner.
being free.
feeling glad and lucky, but sometimes feeling embarrassed at our excess.
knowing we all don't have the same feelings/experiences.
equality.
Obama.
complicated.
feeling better now than with the last President.
what the Founding Fathers stood for.
feeling small.
having great plumbing, good water, opportunity, and freedom most of the time.
